Characters Are Identical When Testing

Problem: When testing in-engine, all characters appear identical.

Solution: Complete Prop Hunt is designed for testing across multiple PCs. When testing on the same PC, the project uses the same save game where player data is stored, causing characters to appear the same.

Lobby Flashes When Creating a Game

Problem: The lobby flashes briefly when attempting to create a game.

Solution: Open WBP_CreateGame and find the Open Level node. Remove ?listen from the options parameter.

Lobby Flashes in Packaged Build

Problem: The lobby flashes when creating a game in a packaged build.

Solution: Open Project Settings > Packaging and ensure all your maps are included in the List of maps to include in a packaged build.

Steam Not Showing Up

Problem: Steam integration isn't working even though Advanced Sessions is installed.

Solution:

Verify you've completed every step in the Steam Integration section
Check that all lines are correctly added to DefaultEngine.ini
Ensure there are no duplicate entries in the config file

Packaged Game Won't Open After Steam Install

Problem: The packaged game fails to launch after installing Steam integration.

Solution: Some Unreal Engine versions have issues with the Steam Sockets plugin. Try disabling or enabling this plugin in Edit > Plugins and repackage your project.

Infinite Loading Screen

Problem: The game shows an infinite loading screen when loading a map.

Solution:

Ensure maps are located in Game/CompletePropHunt/Maps/
Verify the map names in the datatable match the actual file names in the Maps folder
If you've moved the Maps folder, update the file path in BP_GM_Lobby and TravelIntoLevel

WBP_Settings_Keybind Error

Problem: An error appears related to WBP_Settings_Keybind.

Solution: This error occurs when User Settings are not enabled. Navigate to Edit > Project Settings > Enhanced Input and enable Enable User Settings.

Tip

This option is already enabled by default in newer versions of Unreal Engine (5.1+).
